The Youth Philanthropy Board reviews requests annually and awards grants based on the project and the availability of funds. Please read through all of the eligibility and requirement information below to determine whether or not your organization is qualified to apply.

YPB grants are meant to provide innovative support to youth and encourage better choices. Projects and programs should align with YPB's Mission and Vision:

A future where positive behaviors of teens are supported through mental health awareness, substance abuse prevention, safe and fun activities, and peer-to-peer education.

GRANT ELIGIBILITY

The Youth Philanthropy Board awards grants through the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation to private and public organizations. To be eligible for an award:

• Organizations must be classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization and in good standing or have a valid fiscal sponsor. We do not grant to individuals. 
• If the organization has received prior funding from YPB or GGICF, it must have completed any final grant reporting due before applying for additional funding. 
• To be considered, your proposal must demonstrate how Hall County youth directly benefit from the program or project.
• The Youth Philanthropy Board represents and serves the greater Hall County area. Applications for projects/programs serving youth outside of Hall County will not be considered.

GRANT REQUIREMENTS 

• Projects/programs must support youth in Hall County.
• Applications must be completed in full, including all supporting materials.
• No handwritten, faxed, or emailed proposals will be accepted. 
• The proposed program or project must be completed within one year of funding. 
• All grant applicants will need to make time available for site visits from or presentations to the Youth Philanthropy board, which will occur on Thursday, February 4, 2027.

Only applications submitted through the GGICF Grant Portal will be accepted. No handwritten, faxed, or emailed proposals will be accepted. Please contact stall@gicf.org if you do not have a GGICF Grant Portal account.

Preferences

Preference will be given to organizations that provide innovative support to youth by:

• Help alleviate drug and alcohol abuse by youth or impacting youth
• Encourage peer-to-peer (youth-to-youth) education and mentoring
• Provide mental and/or physical health support for youth, including hygiene needs
• Offer safe and meaningful activities for youth
• Support youth with disabilities
• Meet the basic needs of youth
• Support youth whose needs are not currently being met

NOTE: Grant applications and all supporting documents submitted become the property of the Youth Philanthropy Board and GGICF.

Grants for the following purposes will NOT be considered:

• To individuals
• Religious or political purposes
• Endowments, capital campaigns, or annual fund drives
• Fundraising event sponsorships or the creation of fundraising event collateral materials
• Programs that create an indefinite, long-term commitment by the YPB or the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation
• Requests for additional funding for projects that have already been approved or funded
• For ongoing projects or programs, applicants must address funding for maintenance and operations
• Incomplete requests

GRANT APPLICATION

To be considered for funding, completed grant applications must be submitted before the due date. Late applications will not be accepted.
