For two decades, the Kim West Dinsdale Excellence in Teaching Award has been a shining beacon of appreciation for the educators who make a profound impact on students’ lives every single day. This prestigious award honors Hall County teachers and guidance counselors who bring passion, creativity, and heart to the classroom, and whose dedication to students helps shape a stronger future for all of us.

Created in honor of Kim West Dinsdale, a fierce advocate for education and lifelong learning, the award recognizes those who don’t just do their jobs; they transform them into something extraordinary. These are the educators who stay late, notice when a student is struggling, and make learning come alive. Every September, our community has the opportunity to celebrate their brilliance.

Each recipient of the award receives $5,000 and public recognition for their exceptional contributions to students and school communities across Hall County. But more than the money, this award is a heartfelt thank you, a celebration of the energy, empathy, and excellence that our educators bring to their work.

Nominations are Open September 2–30
 Do you know a teacher or guidance counselor who deserves to be celebrated?

Eligible Nominees Must:

• Be a currently certified, actively employed teacher or guidance counselor
• Work with students in Pre-K through 12th grade
• Be employed at a public or private school in Hall County, Nebraska

How to Nominate:
 Parents, students, colleagues, administrators, and community members are all encouraged to submit nominations starting September 2 here. Self-nominations or nominations by family members are not eligible. Incomplete nominations will not be considered.
